short video loop video and GIF-some of the hottest types of user-generated content on the Web today, and have each of Instagram, to Twitter and even Facebook and Google are involved in providing support and tools for creators, today, a new application called SPUN wants to capitalize on this growing trend, allowing users to mash video phone, along with the current pop culture videos and then customize your creations, using its own library application in animation, cutouts, special effects and text.

SPUN idea comes from serial entrepreneurs Andy Miller and Avi Dabir who have known each other for ten years and has worked in the past, m-Qube (mobile payments, sold VeriSign), Quattro Wireless (sold to Apple ,; Miller was CEO ) and, most recently, the launch control gesture Leap Motion, where he was Chief Operating Officer Miller.

Explains Dabir, and he and Miller are passionate about mobile and saw organic growth in the creation of content, where people take the moments of pop culture – such as movies and TV, sports or politics – and then turn them into short clips or GIF-which are then shared on social media.

But the process of doing that today still can be quite cumbersome, he said.

“People are downloading to take a screenshot or video somewhere, then put it in After Effects or Photoshop, put it together, it’s loaded Instagram,” says Dabir. “People are already doing this, so let’s make it easier for them to express themselves more visually through video and through creativity. [Here is] we got SPUN”.

The application itself, now live firmware, really easy to use – even if you’re not used to working with video. To create your own collages in SPUN, first select the video from the Camera Roll or cast their community, or you can shoot with the camera. Once selected the video, you can trim it, add other videos with him, and then decorate the video with text, animation and cutouts.

There is also a way to cut people’s heads from video and other exchange in a blunt (but, fortunately, not photo-realistic) way.

And for those who prefer to consume content on the creation or those who are simply looking for ideas feed applications include features and new video, which you can click on “Respin” – meaning, to make a collage of your own, using their video as a starting material.

The process for producing a video about a minute or two, and you get better the more you use the app, we said. And it’s faster than using a professional-level editing tools, as many do today.

When your creation is complete, you can share as a result of the second 6-max video back to the community, as well as a number of social channels such as Vine, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, SMS, or your can save it to your Camera Roll.

At the time, as a kind of a silly nature of the application immediately appeals to a younger demographic, Dabir said SPUN can have a broader appeal. – Especially as some of its users mashing up video from sports personalities or politics, not just Internet memes

The application has been in private testing before today’s debut, and now catalog thousands of videos are available for use. In the end, the launch would like to cooperate with the brand to introduce more content on their community.

At the same time, however, SPUN has a number of content partners on board, including Shaquille O’Neal, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” writers, NBC comedy writers, political satire and popular Instagramers.

SPUN can be downloaded for free on IOS, and plans to launch on Android next year.
