500 Startups today presented its 14th party companies in the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California, with a spooky twist.

Dave McClure said that this party was less international than the previous party, and only 39% of the founders hail from outside the United States. Of the 36 start-ups that have gone through the program, 25% were female founders. He made no mention of the colored people. We called McClure on Twitter that he immediately said, “sorry, we do not break out those statistics, will seek to include in the future. (There is actually a lot of ppl of color in batch14).” It turns out that 25 % of the founders of the party to represent on the stage were people of color, we are defining as either black, Asian, Indian or Latino.
