In order to get a page that is ranked on a specific keyword on Google, you must have both components on the page’s SEO and out-of-page link builds. Basically, the page SEO needs to optimize the structure of the page, making it easier for Google to send the web crawler to find and associate the page with the keyword you want.

When it comes to SEO pages, some factors are more important than other factors. In this article, we’ll discuss the most critical factors until a small tweak takes your page out of the competition.

This article is not for those who feel that their content is a work of art and should be written only for their own pleasure. Instead, this process is for those who believe content should be written for your audience and search engines.

So that each page for each keyword has important strategic significance. You do not want to compete with yourself for search engine targeting. It’s best to target different keywords for each page in order to avoid a dominant ranking.

Make your site available to search engines.

If the search engine can not find your site, you can optimize all you want, but it will never appear. If you are using a content management system (CMS), such as WordPress, you can quickly check if your site is crawlable by logging into the WordPress Portal and selecting Privacy under the Settings tab. When you’re in the privacy setting, make sure the “Allow search engines to index this site” option is selected under the “Site visibility” heading.

To confirm that your site has been crawled, sign in to Google Webmaster Tools, whether you use WordPress or not. After selecting a site, you will be taken to the Webmaster Tools panel for that site. Now click Health on the left sidebar and grab the statistics. Here, you should be able to see if your site is crawled and frequency.


Body
It is important to try to include the keyword in the body of the document at least four times. If you need to rearrange your keywords to fit in natural text for better fluency, please feel free to contact us. Google is becoming more and more environment, so the four examples do not need an accurate keyword string. Make sure your exact keyword appears at least once in these four attempts.

To clarify, we are not saying that the more the better. If you push your keywords into your document 14.5 times, it will not only hurt the readability of the page, but in fact may also hurt your rankings. A simple rule to follow here is try to keep everything you write on the web for humans, but adjust to search engines.

Finally, you absolutely need to invest in your content and promise at least 300 characters or 50 words. Anything less than this is considered light and does not have any value. Do not strive for the lowest goal, your goal should be to write an information article for your audience or potential readers that usually takes between 500 and 1000 words – do not stretch your articles, just make your point, concise, as you can.

Image
If you have images, make sure that the keywords are in the image’s alt tab. You can also name your image as a keyword that matches your keyword, such as keyword.jpg.

If you do not have a picture in your blog post, consider getting one because it will not only help you rank, but if it’s relevant to your content, it can greatly improve the reader’s ability to recall information.

Page Title
The page title appears in the tabs of any web browser you are using. If you hover over a tab, the full page title should appear.

Ideally, you should set the page title to, “Insert your exact keyword here | yourwebsite.com.” The best practice is to use your exact keywords and use them before the title text:

Be careful because your page title will be displayed as the title of your search engine results, so you need to keep it easy to read and designed to attract users to click through to your site. If no one clicks on the results, the ranking of any keyword is meaningless.

Avoid setting multiple page titles. This is usually the result of an incorrect code by the developer. Having two page headers really makes search engines confused because they can not determine what the actual title of your page is.

An easy way to determine the title of the page on any given page of your website is to see how the source code of your page can be viewed. Here’s how to do this in Chrome.

Click the small wrench icon in the upper-right corner of the screen, go to Tools, and view the source file. You should only find a title tag in the title section of the document..

Meta Description
This is the content of your page title that appears in the search results.

A good meta description can increase your site’s search traffic. Your keywords are also important in meta descriptions, and the description is no more than 156 characters long.

Just like the page title, there should only be one. Use the same view source technology used for page titles to verify that you have only one meta description.

H1 tag
The h1 tag is different from the title tags we discussed earlier. Very importantly, keywords should also be in the h1 tag, just like the title, it is ideal to place the keyword before the label text. If you use WordPress, whatever you use in the h1 tag will default to your page title. If you need to distinguish between two downloads of an SEO plugin, it will allow you to write custom page titles and meta descriptions.

Try to use only the keyword once in the h1 tag, and only twice if it is absolutely necessary, but never use it three times.

URL
At the very least, you should try to include your target keywords in the URL’s paragraph, for example:

Http://www.xyz.com/keyword (where the keyword is slug) or better http://www.keywordvariation.com/keyword

Content management systems such as WordPress can automatically set your h1 title text to slug. It’s easy to change these; just click the slug field and type in what you want.

The best practice is to use standard characters in the URL, meaning letters, numbers, and dashes (-) in place of whitespace.

Last but not least, your URL length needs to be taken into account. Try to limit your URL length to 76 characters or fewer because the search engine will typically truncate after 76 characters – meaning your keywords may not be truncated in character confusion.

Make sure your URLs have as few subfolders as possible. This is a much more difficult task that may require your developer to jump, but a URL such as xyz.com/keyword is much better than xyz.com/blog/2012/02/keyword.

Technical Note:

If, after this blog post, you just realized that all your lugs are meaningless, you should correct this (unless you’ve managed to rank really well). If you continue to change the URL paragraph, the correct handler will be to set the 301 redirect from the old URL to your new optimized URL.

For example you would 301 redirect; http://xyz.com/crazy_slug-that-doesnt_make-sense to http://xyz.com/keyword

Rel Specification
This one is a bit more confusing. The easiest way to think of a rel-spec tag is to think of referencing your source in the bibliography. This tag is essentially a page-friendly way to credit your content to the original page that was published.

If your content is completely original, simply set the rel specification to the page you’re posting to tell the search engine that you are the originator of the content.

WordPress Fans:

Note that there is a discrepancy between the reference content (not using the rel specification tag) and the flagged copy (done with the reference tag).

Occasionally, you may experience duplication of pages directly on other sites, such as republishing a news release on multiple websites that you own.
