your existing router can be a bit long in the tooth, and this means that it has the latest equipment, or. It supports all current wireless standards such as 802.11ac, which can deliver a better network speed and the range thanks to directional beamforming, which means faster downloads and quicker web browsing.

the latest and greatest

Most new laptops, tablets and smartphones currently support 802.11ac, so if you are still using a router with five years ago, you could miss it.

You may also be tempted by some of the other recent advances in technology router. With six antennas on the outside and red tent body, DIR-890-L, perhaps the most bizarre looking router never I did. Six antennas allows for three simultaneous wireless networks, two 5 GHz 1300 Mb / s 802.11ac network from third to 600 Mbit / sec speed 802.11n, gathered in the same SSID function SmartConnect. Behind the scenes, it allows the router to work out of the rough positioning device connected to it, then select the best speed depending on the distance.

D-Link has recently upgraded its software interface with more intuitive design, too, with a few extra features added. It can be set up with the help of a mobile application, without having to go through the hassle of entering the computer, and allows for remote monitoring via the mydlink Cloud, along with media sharing directly from any connected storage too.

Airport Extreme router from Apple is working with PC and Mac, it is best for OS X users through elegant software bundled with every Mac called Airport Utility. Rather than go through the firmware via Web browser, you can install and configure the Airport Extreme with this program, and on Macs, at least, it works fantastically well.

AirPort Extreme is also a powerful piece of network equipment. The latest model is the 6th generation of support 1300 Mbit / s 802.11ac, with simultaneous 2.4 and 5 GHz bands to support the standard 802.11n / G / B / A. It has a three-port Gigabit Ethernet, WAN port and a USB 2.0 port for sharing printers or external hard drives.

Apple also sells a version with a built-in hard drive for over-the-air Time Machine backups. Called Airport Time Capsule, it offers all the same features as network AirPort Extreme, but with the addition of either 2TB or 3TB hard drive, you can create a backup and restore system files to Mac remotely.
